Mrs. Leslie's Classroom

"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go...” ― Dr. Seuss, Oh, the Places You'll Go!

Agendas

Each night your child will bring home an AR book and an agenda. The agend is a critical part of our communication with each other. Please remember to check your child's agenda each night for important information, notes, and AR test scores. Also, always remember to write the name of the book that your child reads to you and sign by it. It is also very important to include any extras that you practiced at home. Reading, practicing sight words, and math skills are all very important to your child's overall success in school. Thank you for all you do!

Classroom Blog Posts

Leslie
This blog is going to be another great way for me to communicate about what we are doing in our classroom. If you are posting on the blog, please be sure to be positive, and use the blog for communication purposes only. If you have a specific question about a student, please see me personally, and we can discuss it privately. Thank you for sharing the blog with us! Remember, this is a new process for me as well, so please be patient with me!

Meeting Individual Needs

One question that I am always asked is how I meet all of the students learning needs. We all know that every student learns differently, and that all students are at different levels. It is my job, and my responsibility to be sure that all students are learning at their current academic level. Regardless of where your child is academically, I will do MY BEST to be sure that they make AT LEAST one years growth while they are in the 1st Grade! I am always available to answer any additional questions that you may have about your child. Please contact me PRIVATELY through e-mail, note, or phone call to address these questions or concerns. Thank you!
